Afternoon Walk

Tomorrow after our first nutrition break, we are going for a walk around the pond on Boyne St. with Mrs. McCarthy’s class. We’re going to look at leaves, insects, bark, fruit, etc and collect some samples that we see. We’ll be leaving at 11:40 and returning by 1:00 at the latest. If you are available and […]

Word Wall

We have a word wall in our classroom that we will add to each week. We started with each of the children’s names and this week, we added our first 5 words: I, first, that, two and went. Of course they laughed at the word “I”, but I told them we had to add it […]

First Communion

A note regarding First Communion has gone home today with each child. If your child is making their First Communion, please return these to school as soon as possible. This is an important year in your child’s faith journey. Your support will mean a lot to your child. Please record all dates provided on your […]

Avid Readers Club

Terry Fox Run – Sept 30th

Primary students will be participating in the Terry Fox Run on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30. All students are encouraged to support this cause. Our goal this year is $3000. If each student brings just $5 in pledge money, we’ll reach our goal! Wear green and gold to show school spirit!

I didn’t realize that I was supposed to ask for agenda money via my classroom newsletter, I thought it was in the school newsletter. Sooooo…..could you please send in $5 to cover the cost of agendas. Thank you! And thank you to those that have sent it in already.

Sorting & Categorizing We went for a walk this morning…..#1 because the gym still had tables set up from last night and #2 because we have to take advantage of this weather while it lasts! So we walked the track, stopped at the equipment for a few minutes and then continued on. We ended up […]

Picture Day – October 7th

Another reminder will go out but just wanted to let you know!

Collecting leaves, pine needles, pine cones, etc…..

Last year I became involved in a school board initiative called Inquiry-based Learning with another colleague on staff. The children are encouraged to “wonder”, think for themselves, to reason, to think critically, to build knowledge and to work with others. I’m still learning as I go but found the above quote and thought it captured the […]
